Love, tonight we shall not despair at results disappoint,

We shall not give in to a cruel view point.

Enough tears and heartache -

Turn around and we shall celebrate,

A love beyond referendum demonstrate.

Listen to that pounding heart of ours,

Once repressed, muffled, as tradition devours,

Ask why ascribe identity at birth,

Deprive us of any granted mirth,

Through patience and resilience we acknowledge our worth.

Gain courage by rumination and practice,

Build up to be human twice;

What’s before and after comes out,

No perfect time to speak aloud,

To we ourselves devout.

Bottling up feeds a monster torture,

If one then many others;

Hands extend in kindness circle,

Action a chain reaction miracle,

Shields and pillars we multiple.

Thousand voices echoed as progress made,

Open conversations deeper than sheer hate;

We as weapon and shield both support,

Society seeps into friends and family rapport,

In meaningful communication we record.

Quiet objections, change the world one head at a time,

Our considerations ahead of our time;

Reflect not just what is but what should be,

Smiles and acceptance all encompassing,

Next generation a love sublime shall ring.
